In an address recorded during a trip Friday to a jet-engine component factory in Virginia, the president said the parts manufactured at the Petersburg plant would be used in “lighter, faster and more fuel-efficient” next-generation planes. In a Boston speech, Hassell says it’s �disconcerting� that rumors are driving the market, mentioning recent events including MF Global’s rapid downfall, concerns in September about Morgan Stanley’s exposure to French banks, and Jefferies’ sovereign debt positions.
